The tree’s red, blood-like sap is rich in protective antioxidant polyphenols and anti-inflammatory compounds. Indigenous tribes throughout Peru and Ecuador use Dragon’s Blood internally for stomach ulcers and intestinal issues such as “traveler’s diarrhea.” Externally it is the king of all herbs to use on external wounds.
